There are more characters at a poker table than you can shake a stick at, wether it's a live game or online you will soon realise that this game is all about character, we think that's what makes it so popular.

If you've visited an online poker room just check out the names okay some of us are boring but some people put a lot of time and effort into deciding what their online persona is going to be.  Fortunately this gives you a slight clue into what kind of player they may be.

Guess Who?

Impassive Features you know the kind play so tight we go so far as too say tighter than a Yorkshireman's wallet! Rarely plays a hand loves Aces and Kings and knows how to use them, takes few risks and really seems to know when to fold.

Cheeky Chappie doesn't seem to have a care in the world or lives in blissfull ignorance, doesn't believe in luck good or bad he will bet on every hand raised everything and asks stupid questions like is AKQJ10 suited any good.

The Professor - analytical mind, understands cards, odds and you and knows how to play the lot. He wrote the book on poker and you'd better beware, get out while you've still got a manhattan.

The Loose Cannon - Stays in pots too long even when every chance of winning has long gone he still raises, doesn't know about odds and actually couldn't give a toss about em, will stay in the game to the bitter end will often be heard saying nothing ventured nothing gained, occassionally will break your heart but more often will build your stack.

The 'X' Factor - learning the game but has what it takes, will play strictly by the book will build a huge stack and trains for the game, one fault he is inexperienced but don't hold that against him just use it.

The Winder Up - appears reasonable on the surface but knows how to push your buttons, can read your game better than you and plays those silly hands that lure you in because no one should be raising with what he has in his hand yet always wins with em.
